Janet Morgan

Dear Prospective Parents,

Welcome to Betton Hills Preparatory Advanced Early Learning Center. I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Janet Morgan, and I graduated from Montgomery County Community College in Blue Bell, Pennsylvania, with an Associate in Applied Science degree in Nursery/Kindergarten Education. I am married to a “Penn Stater” who is an IT Project Manager for FSU and we have two adult children, Marian and Ian. This is my fifteenth year of teaching at Betton Hills. In addition to my direct teaching responsibilities, I also serve as the Director of our Early Childhood Program.

Betton Hills’ and my philosophy towards education is to develop each child’s whole self, including the mental, social, emotional and physical aspects. That is why our school implemented the Core Knowledge Curriculum in 1996. The Core Knowledge Curriculum was developed by E.D. Hirsch and it has afforded us the opportunity to provide a solid, specific and sequenced curriculum that allows our students to master or become more competent in all areas of development. The Core Knowledge Sequence recognizes that children develop at different rates, so each teacher can individualize their class as much as possible. In addition to the Core Knowledge Sequence, we must adhere to the standards set forth in the Florida Pre-Kindergarten Education Standards, Sunshine State Standards for Kindergarten – Second Grade and Florida’s School Readiness Standards. The Core Knowledge Curriculum aligned with the Florida Educational Standards will provide your children with an outstanding educational experience.

Accredited by SACS, AISF, and NIPSA. A Core Knowledge school.
