Andrea Roberts
Dear Families,
Can you believe this school year is here already? This summer flew by
but now the real fun begins! I am ecstatic about starting this new school year
with an entire new group of students and families. Throughout this year we
will be getting to know each other and working as a team to teach your little
ones all that they can possibly learn. I greatly look forward to this partnership
and welcome you with open arms into my classroom.
As your child’s teacher, I think it is important for you to know a little bit
about myself and my goals for this upcoming school year. I am a recent
addition to the Tallahassee area and have been here for only 2 amazing years. I
am originally from Clearwater, FL and after graduation moved to Gainesville
where I attended the most wonderful University in the world…the University of
Florida. I am a die hard Gator fan and proudly bleed orange and blue in this
garnet and gold town. However, we can agree to disagree and any student or
parent who does not share my love for the Gators will still be allowed to enter
my classroom☺. After graduating with my Bachelor’s degree in Elementary
Education I married and moved to Ocala where I taught in the public school
system for 2 years. Shortly after moving to Tallahassee I stepped foot into
Betton Hills and started teaching Preschool and fell in love with teaching little
ones. This year will be my 3rd year teaching Preschool and I could not be more
thankful to be here at Betton Hills.
Throughout this year, one of my main goals is to help your child adjust to
being in a classroom and working with others in a group setting. For some of
you, this is your child’s first experience in a classroom and I assure you that it
will be a wonderful one. They will be learning to share, use their words to
express their feelings, manage frustration and anger properly and so much
more. I give you my word that my first priority is your child’s health, safety,
and well being. My goal is always to make my classroom a warm and loving
environment that they are excited to come to and sad to leave. I feel that
learning can be maximized only when they feel comfortable and accepted and I
assure you that they will.
This year is not only a new experience for your child but for you as well.
I absolutely love parent involvement in the classroom and this is a great way
for you to see what we do here in Preschool. Anytime you would like to come
read with a small group, help out with crafts and projects, or simply volunteer
for an hour or two just simply let me know a few days in advance. I want this
to be a great experience for all of our families and start a great foundation for
the many years of school to come! If you need to contact me, please call me at
the school at 422-2464 or email me at aroberts@bettonhills.com
